After La Roja defeated Argentina in the World Cup Final, the U.S. president joined FIFA President Gianni Infantino to present the championship trophy. However, after completing the official presentation, Trump remained on the podium alongside the Spanish players as they prepared to celebrate.

Rodri Asked Trump to Step Aside During the World Cup Ceremony

As the players gathered to lift the World Cup trophy, Spain captain Rodri gestured for Trump to step aside so the team could take center stage during the celebration.

Although the president moved slightly, he remained standing with the players as the ceremony reached its most anticipated moment.

Moments later, Gianni Infantino also approached Trump and appeared to invite him to leave the podium so the newly crowned world champions could enjoy the spotlight.

Despite the gesture, the U.S. president remained beside the players for a few more moments and only began walking away after Spain had officially lifted the trophy.

The scene reminded many fans of the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup Final, when Trump also remained on stage during Chelsea FC’s championship celebration, prompting widespread discussion on social media.
