Thousands of older adults in Puerto Rico can now apply for the Puerto Rico Seniors Bonus, a financial assistance payment of $300 or $400, depending on their eligibility.

The application period will remain open until October 14, 2026, and the process is completed primarily through the SURI online platform.

The benefit is intended for low-income seniors and pensioners who meet the eligibility requirements established by Puerto Rico’s Department of the Treasury.

In some cases, married couples may also receive the incentive if each spouse qualifies individually.

  • Why it matters: This bonus is designed to ease the financial burden on older adults with limited incomes. Understanding the eligibility requirements and submitting the application before the deadline is essential to avoid missing out on the benefit.
