Heavy Rain Increased the Danger Across the Region

In recent days, Ohio has remained under the threat of flash flooding caused by powerful storms.

Lewisville was among the communities placed under weather alerts because of the intense rainfall that fell on Sunday.

Officials explained that the storms moved slowly, dumping heavy rain over the same areas for several hours.

The prolonged rainfall significantly increased the flood risk because the ground was already saturated from previous storms.

Authorities Continue Their Investigation

After confirming the child’s death, the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office extended its condolences to the boy’s family.

In a public statement, the agency asked the community «to keep the family in your thoughts and prayers and to respect their privacy as they grieve this tragic loss.»

Authorities also stated that the investigation remains ongoing and added that no additional information will be released at this time.

The Ohio flood child case has deeply affected the Lewisville community as Ohio continues to deal with the aftermath of severe storms and the ongoing dangers posed by flash flooding, according to Fox Weather.
