According to CBS, Costco has recalled a meal kit containing meatloaf and potatoes due to a possible risk of salmonella contamination.

The retail chain informed its customers about the measure through a notice warning that the product may be contaminated.

The Costco meatloaf recall affects stores in nearly 30 states across the United States, as well as Puerto Rico and Washington, D.C.

The company asked customers who purchased the product not to consume it.

It also said buyers can return it to any Costco store to receive a full refund.

Costco Recalls Meatloaf Over Salmonella Risk

The recalled product is called Meatloaf with Yukon Mashed Potatoes and Glaze.

According to Costco, the meal kit has expiration dates between March 5 and March 16.

During that period, the product was sold in different stores across the chain.

The Costco meatloaf recall occurred after one of the ingredient suppliers reported a potential food safety issue.

Supplier Griffith Foods recalled one of the ingredients used in the meatloaf.

The decision was made due to possible salmonella contamination.

As a result of that alert, Costco decided to remove the entire product from the market.

Additionally, the product was sold in Nevada, New Mexico, North Carolina, and Ohio.

It was also available in Pennsylvania, Puerto Rico, and South Carolina.

Other locations where the kit was sold include Tennessee, Utah, Virginia, and Wisconsin.

According to Costco, so far no injuries or illnesses related to the recalled product have been reported.
