The Video Shows a Confrontation Before the Fall That Caused His Death

According to El Heraldo de México, the material shared on social media shows Alexander Avendaño aboard a boat with other people during his final moments.

The footage shows the young man struggling with several occupants of the boat while shouting and whistling can be heard in the background.

The video also records moments in which Avendaño tries to hold on while being grabbed by other people.

As seen in the recording, during the altercation voices can be heard shouting phrases such as “throw him!” and “drown him!”

The images also show the young man being dragged during the incident.

Authorities Review New Elements in the Case

Alexander Avendaño was reported missing on May 24.

According to available information, the young man fell into the El Peñol-Guatapé reservoir without knowing how to swim.

His body was found lifeless on the night of May 29.

The information was confirmed by the El Peñol Fire Department.

Fourteen divers from different fire departments participated in the search efforts.

The institution reported that the discovery occurred after more than 120 continuous hours of searching.

The body was later secured and handed over to the competent authorities for the corresponding procedures.

Before this video appeared, one of the hypotheses being considered was that it had been an accident.

However, the new audiovisual material could provide relevant information to establish what happened before the fall.
